City Engineer’s Office (CEO) has released its project status report as of November 2017 which 51 out of 88 infrastructure projects were completed under the administration of City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri.

Of the total projects amounting to P 901 million, 28 projects were appropriated in roads and bridges worth P 633.91 million; 36 in buildings (P 237.97-M); seven in water systems (P 14.93-M); and 17 in other structures (P 14.21-M).

Among the major road concreting projects accomplished were: City’s farm to market at basakan barangays amounting to P 406 million; 1.2-kilometer road section along diversion road at Casisang (P 32-M); diversion road section phase two located at Sumpong (P 43-M); Magsaysay-Mapayag road phase two (P 26-M); and Purok 1 to Purok 5 road section, Maligaya (P 16.5-M).

Other notable on-going road concreting projects are: San Jose-Magsaysay road phase three (P 26.68-M); Maligaya-Dumayas Road (P 16.56-M); National Highway junction to Sta. Ana Road section, Casisang (P 8.34-M); and Purok 6, Casisang (P 8.2-M).

While, various road concreting projects were also being done in the inner suburbs of the City, as stated in CEO report.

Completion of these infrastructure projects will benefit the people of Malaybalay in terms of ease of transporting goods and services.

Last year, the City accentuated the completion of integrated bus terminal and the building of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. Meanwhile, the P 179-M new City Hall based on report is nearing its completion with 97.24 percent work accomplishment.

Public school buildings were also completed to different barangays amounting to at least P 6 million.

CEO is tasked to implement and supervise the projects mandated by the local government unit (LGU), both by straight contract and by administration in accordance with the Program of Works (POW), plans and specification in coordination with the City officials, barangay officials, different offices and agencies.
