The City Engineering Office (CEO) hosted this month’s convocation program of the City Government of Malaybalay anchored on the theme: “Connecting Gaps in Public Service Through Relevant Infrastructure,” on September 9, 2019.

The program was graced by the invited guest speaker from the Civil Service Commission – Region 10, Ms. Merilyn B. Magsayo.

September is also the monthlong celebration of 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary which the speaker reminded the employees about the importance of integrity and accountability in public service, with this year’s theme, “Upholding Integrity and Building a High-Trust Society.”

The senior human resource specialist revolved her talk in honesty and integrity in public service as well as the value of customer satisfaction.

Public service is now shifting from client to customer approach where it promotes a customer-friendly atmosphere responsive to the needs of the people, she added.

“Honesty and integrity creates trust,” as she quoted referring to our dealings with customers with utmost dedication in service and integrity.

She also emphasized the important role of engineering department regarding the implementation of different infrastructure projects to answer the needs of the City like building disaster resilient structures; roads and bridges where goods and services are vital and accessible to the community.

Building relevant infrastructures also include farm to market roads and classrooms, water systems and other structures.

She concluded her message that we should not be swayed by temptations with dirty money, your loyalty and dedication in government service will be lost once you let it in.
