Malaybalay City Civil Registrar Office (CCRO) caters civil registration needs of the indigenous people (IP) from the communities in Sitio Kinuaw, Malilong, Zamboangita, Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

The mobile civil registration is part of the HATUD SERBISYO program of City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri, a year-round activity providing frontline services to its constituents at their doorsteps.

IP members availed the free registration of birth under Republic Act 8371 otherwise known as IPRA Law.

According to CCRO, the law recognizes, protects and promotes their rights as members of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) or IPs.

CCRO also stated in their report that by respecting their cultural integrity, it ensures benefit on an equal footing from the rights and opportunities which the National and Local Government grant to members of the population such as in education and health.

Also, other services of ICC or IP shall be granted as well that is more responsive to the needs and desires of the communities, CCRO added.

At least 94 residents of Zamboangita availed the free services covering birth registration, issuance of extracted copies of documents, queries regarding clerical and typographical error under RA 9048 and correction of entries of gender and/or date of birth under RA 101172 and request of SEC (NSO Copy).
