The City Government of Malaybalay has turned over 17 rescue vehicles to different barangays of the City to enhance emergency services capability for the barangay responders.

Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. led the turn-over ceremony held at Barangay Casisang Covered Court on June 24, 2020. The program was also attended by our City Officials, Vice Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran, Councilor Niko P. Aldeguer, Councilor Kathleen Cecille C. Pagaling, Councilor Cromwell Kiril D. Dinlayan and Liga President, Councilor Bonifacio G. Valiente.

Mayor Flores reiterates during his message to the Punong Barangays that these vehicles are intended solely to serve the people efficiently in the interest of public service promoting to improve services in emergency response.

The local chief executive urged barangay leaders to use the vehicles effectively, “It is your responsibility to take care of this vehicle. The people do not deserve government service vehicle resting in the garage broken and immobile because of poor maintenance.”

The handing over of transport assets were identified by the recipient-barangays as one of their priorities among the programs and projects lined-up for this year which proved to be useful as we are facing Covid-19 crisis.

These barangays able to receive rescue vehicles were Barangay 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, Can-ayan, Simaya, Bangcud, Magsaysay, Kalasungay, Zamboanguita, St. Peter, Mapulo, Managok, Kulaman, and Indalasa.
