Eight days after the mass vaccination simulation exercise, the City Government of Malaybalay launched its first Covid-19 vaccination rollout for the City’s medical frontliners on March 16, 2021.

Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. led the historic event and witnessed the inoculation of CHO frontliners Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang, Dr. Melirose S. Deticio and Rica E. Raguro, R.N. during the ceremonial vaccination at the City Covered Court, Brgy. 04, this City.

At least 100 CHO medical personnel were expected to get vaccinated during the first day of the rollout.

Sangalang expressed his gratitude that the vaccine has finally arrived on the same day the Enhance Screening Area (ESA) facility was created and established last year. “Today marks the start of the success of the vaccine rollout in the City. This will be our ally together with the public health protocols in fighting Covid-19”, he added.

Mayor Flores lauded the efforts and dedication of the frontliners in their continuous fight against Covid-19 virus. He said, “Today is a memorable day to witness the vaccination of our first priority vaccine recipients, our frontliners.” He also encouraged them to keep their spirits high, saying, “The best vaccine that you will be having is the vaccine you will be getting now.”

The local chief executive also mentioned that the City Government has already allocated a budget for purchasing additional vaccines based on the recommendation and approval by the IATF, which will help along with the provision from the national government for next in line priority groups and sectors until the desirable target has been achieve.

Other attendees from various government officers who graced the activity were executive assistants Roberto T. Flores and Brian Nelson T. Flores, Dr. Vincent C. Raguro – DMO V PDOHO-Bukidnon, DOH personalities, and guests from the Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine National Police.
