In light of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) threat gripping the nation, the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force of Malaybalay City conducted an emergency meeting earlier today, March 13, 2020.

In a meeting held at Loiza’s, Casisang, Dr. Dennis P. Sanggalang, task force head discussed the updates and status of COVID-19 cases happening in our country after the Department of Health declared and raised the RED ALERT to sublevel 2.

Sanggalang explained that the said health alert level is the highest among imposed alert levels in the country indicating that there is a presence of local transmission in the community where there is an impending increase number of confirmed cases. “We have to act immediately and respond accordingly to this threat,” he added.

The chairperson urged the public for now to cancel all your planned trips, attending of social gatherings and any form of attendance in public places like parks, malls, and other recreational sites. He added that we should also observe social distance and proper personal hygiene as one of the preventive measures we have to practice.
