The City Government of Malaybalay turned over relief goods worth Php 500,000.00 to the Province of Cotabato through their Emergency Operation Center (EOC) in Amas, Kidapawan City.

The relief assistance for the earthquake victims took off on November 14, 2019 after City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr., during the meeting with department heads, instructed the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to expedite the delivery of goods.

City Councilor Kathleen Cecille C. Pagaling led the turnover of 874 food packs to EOC-Cotabato along with CSWDO and CDRRMO personnel. The donated food packs will be distributed among internally displaced persons.

Councilor Pagaling, in her initiative, also handed over relief goods voluntarily donated by city employees and donors.

CSWDO disclosed that each food pack contains three kilos rice, three cans corned beef, two cans sardines, two cans mechado, one pack coffee powder, one pack powder milk, half-kilo white sugar, 10 packs instant noodles and one bottle 500ml distilled water.

The Province of Cotabato, on the other hand, expressed their gratitude to the people of Malaybalay by sending back a ‘thank you card’ as token that was received by Councilor Pagaling.
