PDEA-10 lauds Mayor Zubiri; cites efforts in anti-drug campaign

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) awarded a plaque of recognition to City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri for his unrelenting support and commitment to help Government’s campaign to suppress the supply of illegal drugs in the country.

Director Wilkins M. Villanueva, MPA, CESE presented the award during the 16th PDEA anniversary held at Mallberry Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City on June 8, 2018.

Only three local government units in the entire region 10 received such citation of which City of Malaybalay was one of the honorees. Executive Assistant to the Mayor Romeo R. Lapeciros, Jr., received the award in behalf of the honorable Mayor.

Meanwhile, Mayor Zubiri’s support program in Community Based Drug Rehabilitation to drug surrenderers are still on-going with the 11th batch.

The initiative that was launched last December 7, 2016 have already benefited 2,229 individuals who completed the program with the full support of the City government and partner agencies and volunteers.

Recently, Barangay Dos joined Kulaman declared by the PDEA-10 as drug-free barangay through Resolution No. 68 Series of 2018 during the Regional Oversight Committee for the implementation of the Barangay drug clearing program’s second meeting.
