2016 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award for City of Malaybalay

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized the City Government of Malaybalay as one of the 306 local government units in the entire country to receive this year’s prestigious and significant award in Good Governance.

The award was conferred on October 27, 2016 in Manila during the 25th Anniversary of the Local Government Code making Malaybalay as one of the 28 out of 98 LGUs in Region 10 to receive the Seal.

During the convocation program, City Administrator Herculano S. Ronolo, chair of the SGLG committee formally presented the award along with the City Officials.

Ronolo lauded the collaborative efforts of the different agencies of the City Government which tirelessly complied and passed all the parameters in the six core and essential areas that embodies good local governance.

SGLG or ‘Seal’ is an award and incentive program that drives local governments to improve their services by assessing good governance standards and practices.

There are three core areas to comply for the local government to be a recipient of the SGLG, these are Good Financial Housekeeping, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and at least one of these key essential areas in governance these are Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management and Peace and Order.

With this award, the City Government receives a Performance Challenge Fund from the DILG.
