City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri graced the ceremony to formally start the construction of the new City Fire Station – Phase I situated at the complex of Malaybalay City Police Station earlier Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
Mayor Zubiri led the ceremonial ground-breaking and capsule laying along with the attendance of notable personnel from Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) officials Region 10 FCINSP Richie R. Fabre, FINSP Cristino T. Banac and Malaybalay City Fire Marshall FCINSP Roel Bacasnot.
In the program, Mayor Zubiri said that we are fulfilling the dream to have a new City Fire Station in order to meet the emerging demands for a safer and progressive City.
The P 10.6M construction of the new City Fire Station is cost shared between the City Government of Malaybalay and BFP.
Assistant City Administrator Romeo R. Lapeciros, Jr. said in a statement that for the completion of the building, the City is funding P 8M for Phase II construction under the Zubiri administration while BFP allotted 2.6M in Phase I.
The ceremony started with the “pamuhat” by observing Bukidnon custom seeking for permission and blessings in the area to be constructed.
