A drug addiction rehabilitation center will soon rise in the City of Malaybalay!

This drug rehab facility would be able to accommodate 500 to 1000 clients seeking a stop to their addiction, and ultimately manage their road to recovery and life after treatment.

The City Government of Malaybalay recently visited the site for the proposed Drug Rehab Center facility in Purok 20, Barangay Casisang. This grand project was facilitated by the Provincial Governor, Jose Ma. R. Zubiri who referred the Friends of the Philippines Foundation, a private organization of Chinese businessmen to the CGM officials.

The Friends of the Philippines Foundation have continuously looked for local governments and groups interested in working with them to put up such facilities, and whose goal in combating the societal problem of addiction is in sync with theirs. The City was chosen as the site for this grand plan as it is the capital of the province of Bukidnon.

In turn, the City Government donated the 5-hectare land in Purok 20, Barangay Casisang – along the Diversion Road – for the structure. The total floor area of the rehab center will be about three (3) hectares. Once built, the Department of Health will initially operate and manage the said facility.

After the inspection on the second week of January this year, the planning and designing is already under works. Once design for the whole facility is improved, it will take around six months for the actual construction to start.
