Public Safety and Security: Key to a Strong and Resilient Community – CMO Convo

City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri led the convocation as the City Mayor’s Office sponsored this month’s program on June 5, 2017, City Hall Compound, Malaybalay City.

Mayor Zubiri earlier said in his talk, assured the public that Malaybalay City is generally peaceful despite the peace and order crisis happened in our neighboring region. Mayor Zubiri also lauded the efforts of the Philippine Army and the PNP to ensure public safety and order in our City.

The theme revolved in public safety and security which the City invited a guest speaker from the Office of the Civil Defense, Region 10, Director Liza R. Mazo.

Director Mazo, a disaster manager, praised the City Government of Malaybalay for establishing highly trained and equipped rescue personnel through the Office of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Director Mazo emphasized the importance of risk reduction and management particularly to our vulnerable populace in its exposure to different hazards in the community. She stressed that there is always risk however we can reduce and prevent it with the capacity and capability of the local government units to address the threat of natural calamity or human-induced.
