City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council conducted the annual media forum in line with the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month on July 14, 2017.
Media partners in our province attended the event to tackle different issues relative to public safety, environmental protection and disaster preparedness in the City.
City Vice Mayor Roland F. Deticio led the panel along with the resource speakers from Philippine National Police, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office and City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
Among the topics discussed were the presentation of the accomplishment report of the CDRRMC for the second semester of 2016 and first semester of 2017 which was discussed by City DRRM Officer Alan J. Comiso.
With the surge of internally displaced persons caused by the Marawi conflict, CSWD Officer Virginia I. Flores discussed the relief efforts and assistance made by the City of Malaybalay under the close watch of Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri. At least 1,009 individuals were accounted.
Other topics discussed were updated peace and order situation of the City and the ongoing operation and apprehension of illegal logging and other forest products which were presented by PCI Alfredo G. Ortiz, Jr. and Ms. Jessie G. Suson, respectively.
