Malaybalay vies for silver seal

Set and neat for public service fit as the city of Malaybalay vies for the Silver Seal of Good Housekeeping this year.

In line with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)’s commitment to aggressively scale up interventions to elevate the practice of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation and performance into an institutionalized status; the city government participated graciously for the evaluation and monitoring of the regional team.

Through the process, the city government achieved a passing rate for the overall criteria however failed in some specific areas. With its aim to recognize LGUs with good performance in internal housekeeping focusing in four areas, namely: (1) Good Planning; (2) Sound Fiscal Management; (3) Transparency and Accountability; and (4) Valuing of Performance Information, the city government graded fairly however needs some physical improvements due to the aged and dilapidating office structures.

With this initial evaluation, the city government is currently upgrading and integrating recommendations and propositions for the LGU to be entitled to the Performance Challenge Fund and better governance.
