The City Health Office (CHO) held a Buntis Summit at Highway District in Barangay Laguitas on July 30, 2024, bringing together teenage and high-risk pregnant women to educate them on the importance of safe motherhood.

CHO head, Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang, emphasized the importance of quality prenatal check-ups, ensuring a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery, avoiding home deliveries, and securing PhilHealth coverage. The event also offered free hemoglobin, syphilis, and HbsAg tests, along with tokens for the attendees.

The summit aimed to provide essential information and resources to help participants navigate their pregnancies safely and make informed decisions regarding their health and the health of their babies. Topics covered included prenatal care, nutrition, childbirth, postpartum care, family planning, and STI/HIV awareness and prevention.

This initiative seeks to empower women with the knowledge and resources needed for healthier pregnancies and births, ultimately contributing to the well-being of mothers and their babies in Malaybalay City.

Canonigo, RND, Nutrition Action Officer III; Roger Gamba, STI/HIV-AIDS Staff; Nova Mae Maghanoy, RMT; Highway District midwives; Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS); HRH/NDP; and Kharl Karen Libot, RN, NBS Nurse Coordinator.
