In support to ramped up the rollout of vaccines set by the national government, the City Government of Malaybalay through the City Vaccination Mobile team inoculated a total of 103 individuals comprised of market vendors and workers on Friday, September 17, 2021.
City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr., who is also a medical doctor by profession visited the vaccination team and inspected the venue to ensure that everything was in order for the inoculation of residents held on the second floor of the City Public Market.
With this initiative, Mayor Flores expected more workers in the economic sector to get vaccinated without having to fall in line at the designated vaccination center of the City. “Since these priority groups are highly exposed to an area frequented by people and their customers, there is a need for them to get vaccinated, he added.
He also encouraged people to fully support the vaccination program and not be swayed by rumors and misleading information about the vaccine. “We have the chance to protect ourselves, our families and the community, that is why everyone should get vaccinated once it is their turn.”, he added.
The market vendors under A4 or frontliners in essential sector received the first dose of Sinovac vaccines. Exec. Asst. V Roberto T. Flores closely supervised the event, saying “there is no reason for the market vendors not to get vaccinated with this special off-site activity.”
On the same day, a combined total of 777 doses of vaccine were administered along with on-going vaccination at Enhanced Screening Area (ESA), Brgy. 4.
As of September 17, 2021, a total of 56,617 vaccines were already deployed with 40,036 had their first dose while 16,581 for the second dose, respectively.
