City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. led the relocation of 11 households from Brgy. 9 after their homes were razed to the ground in a fire back in December 2020.
Since then, these affected residents were sheltered at their barangay evacuation center. Various assistance were given to them for the period through the coordination of Exec. Asst. Brian T. Flores, including the awarding of the socialized housing program.
Tagged as informal settlers, the fire victims picked their slots last January 24, 2021 in this City Government program. Each family is entitled to a 120-square meter housing lot in Brgy. San Jose. Present during the event were Brgy. 9 punong barangay Rodrigo Timones, and San Jose punong barangay Bebina Kee.
On Jan. 29, Mayor Flores led the turnover and awarding ceremony which was also attended by the barangay officials, City urban development housing division (CUDH), and the beneficiaries.
Mayor Flores expressed his hope that the displaced families will quickly rebuild their lives and find opportunities once they are settled in their new and permanent shelters.
