Twelve more barangays received brand new hand-held radios for during the turnover ceremony initiated by City Councilor Niko P. Aldeguer on February 4, 2021.

After last weeks happy response from earlier recipients, the 12 barangays finally got their units. In attendance were officials of barangays Cabangahan, Bangcud, Simaya, San Martin, Sinanglanan, Apo Macote, Sto. Niño, Violeta, Managok, Maligaya, Miglamin, and Linabo.

Held at Brgy. Linabo covered court on February 4, 2021, the Cluster 2 barangays received two pairs of hand-held radios.

These sets of emergency equipment were made possible through the unwavering support of the Second District Congressman, Atty. John T. Flores and City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr.

In his message, Aldeguer expressed his hope that the equipment given will be well-cared for and put to good use, stressing, “Amid the pandemic, there are things we should be grateful for, especially government support for the welfare of the people of Malaybalay.

On the other hand, Mayor Flores explained that it’s not just the equipment being turned over, rather, it’s also the responsibility that comes with it. “With accurate reports and timely response, lives of the people may be saved,” he emphasized.

After the ceremony, a short demonstration of how to use the hand-held radios, other basic rules, and an open forum was handled by the ACER-MERU personnel.
