The City Social Welfare and Development office turned over livelihood assistance worth P5,775,000 to 385 beneficiaries from 17 barangays on March 4, 2022. The event was held at the People’s Hall, City Hall, Casisang, Malaybalay City.
The special program was first launched last February 2021, aimed at providing sustainable livelihood program (SLP) to support Pantawid families/recipients who exited the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program under DSWD. Each beneficiary received livelihood assistance of P 15,000 to help sustain household needs through income generating activities.
Dubbed as Padayon-SLP, it is a partnership program between Philippine DSWD and Asian Development Bank & BRAC UPGI which is a scaled multi-provincial graduation initiative geared to improve the socio-economic condition of low-income households. Malaybalay City was one of the four pilot sites of the program in the country.
BRAC UPGI was commissioned by DSWD to do the community organizing composed of the project from beneficiary identification, assessment, case study crafting the organization of Padayon SLPA, bank account opening, project identification and project proposal, and feasibility study for the beneficiaries.
