Today, the third fire sub-station of the City located at Purok 16 in Brgy. Casisang was finally turned over and opened for operations.
Complementing the existing BFP – Malaybalay City Fire Station in Brgy. 2, and the two substations in Kalasungay and Aglayan, the Casisang facility addresses the concerns of the vicinity in terms of fire safety and responses.
Present in the turnover ceremony were Vice Mayor Jay Warren Pabillaran, and Exec. Asst. Brian Nelson T. Flores. City councilors also graced the event, namely Hon. Rendon P. Sangalang and Hon. VM Pabillaran congratulated the BFP and expressed his hope that the third substation will help in times of fire and rescue emergencies, particularly in the barangay where population is steadily increasing. Pabillaran also emphasized that “time is crucial when saving lives and properties,” challenging the personnel to be always ready.
For his part, EA Brian Flores commended the BFP and assured them that the City Government will always support them in carrying out their mandates. He said, “This is not an additional matter to sustain; we think of this as additional help and assistance to the people of Malaybalay.”
City fire marshal SInsp. Anjelyn Pornia thanked the City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. and all of the City Government for the realization of the project. “This will definitely be a big help as we aim to respond fast and efficiently to every call or alarm. We will continue to target securing lives and property with the substation brought even closer to the people.”
