Six City employees were elated as they tied the knot and sealed their vows with sweet “I dos” as binding commitment to become one in a mass wedding ceremony officiated by City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. on February 28, 2021.

Held at the Garden Party Venue, Mayor Flores, during the ceremony, expressed the importance of legalizing union of unwed couple as it renders them and their children fully eligible to receive various government services and assistance.

Also present during the event was Congressman, Atty. John T. Flores who showed his strong support for this free mass wedding program of the City Government of Malaybalay. He urged and encouraged those couples who could not afford usual wedding expenses to avail the said privilege through the assessment and verification of the City Civil Registry Office.

Civil Registry Office is mandated to facilitate the sealing of commitment and binding of contract, which marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.
