The City Government of Malaybalay through the City Mayor’s Office (CMO) and City Urban Development and Housing Division (CUDH) conducted a Turn-Over and Awarding Ceremony to 74 families affected by government’s Right-of-Way (ROW) on national roads last November 4, 2021.

Led by Mayor Florencio T. Flores Jr., the said event took place at the Laguitas Site and Services Phase II.

Flores reminded all beneficiaries to thank the Almighty One for this opportunity saying, “You are very fortunate among those who seek for a place to live in because you were the selected beneficiaries in this resettlement. But this is not just only accepting what is given, we must be responsible for our obligations as well.”

Being tagged as one of vulnerable settlers in the community, Flores also promised that the City Government is continuously seeking ways to increase financial assistance to support them as they will build their own houses, knowing fully well that with resettlement comes economic and livelihood challenges.

According to CUDH, beneficiaries can now transfer to their new resettlement area, each entitled with a 70-square meter housing lot.

Present in the event were City Councilor Erwin Damasco, CUDH and CGm employees, and the beneficiaries.
