The Department of Interior and Local Government awarded Barangay Magsaysay of Malaybalay City as the most outstanding Lupon in component City category for the 2017 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award (LTIA) in region 10.

Barangay Magsaysay Chairman Cesarminto G. Calsis accepted the prestigious recognition during the 2017 LTIA regional awarding ceremony on October 10 at the Grand Caprice, Cagayan de Oro City.

Lupon Chaiman Calsis also received corresponding cash award as an incentive for their untiring effort by effectively settling disputes and disagreements of their constituents at the barangay level.

LTIA is a program of the DILG that recognizes outstanding lupons giving them incentives for their exemplary performance in their implementation of key areas such as efficiency in operations, effectiveness in securing the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay Program, and creativity and resourcefulness of the Lupong Tagapamayapa.

Every year, the City Government of Malaybalay through the leadership of City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri conducted the Search for Galing Barangay and LTIA thereby providing financial incentives, logistics and administrative support to assess and validate all performing barangays, as well as providing trainings and coaching to improve the services at the barangay level as mandated under the local government code.

This year, Magsaysay bagged the top spot for 2017 LTIA at the City level in category-A during the awarding ceremony at the City Covered Court, Freedom Park in celebration of the 140th Araw ng Malaybalay last June 17, 2017.
