The City Tourism Office headed by Ms. Honolu Marie Cruzin together with Councilor Roylan Orquia, Brgy. Captain Arthur Melendez and members of the Barangay Development Council conducted an Ocular Inspection last August 03,2022 at the Bukidnon Tree Plant for future Eco-Cultural Project located between/adjacent to Tigbawan Ridge and Bukatot Ridge in the Barangay 1 Malaybalay City.

The inspection team started trekking at 6:00 AM and traversed through forest and pine trees heading to the site. It is noteworthy that the Bukidnon Tree Plant is a potential eco-tourism site considering its picturesque view of rolling hills, sea of clouds and lush green forests.

General Roylan Orquia, City Councilor Chairman Committee on Tourism emphasized that the development and utilization of eco-tourism sites such as the Bukidnon Fount Inc project shall adhere to environmental protection and promotes sustainable development. He suggested to properly delineate the boundaries of the project site before developing high ground for trails. He also discussed other potential development efforts as stipulated in the signed Memorandum of Agreement.

The opening and operationalization of the eco-tourism site will also pave the way to additional income of the locality specifically on selling local products and services to tourists.
