The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) in Malaybalay, led by Chief Alan J. Comiso, participated in the 36th National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) kick-off ceremony on July 1, 2024.
The event included a motorcade and a tree-planting activity at the City DRRM Forest (Food, Oxygen, Rains, Eco-Balance, Soil Conservation, Tree-Growing), this City.
The ceremony saw participation from various CDRRM stakeholders, including NGAs from BJMP, PNP, BFP, Poblacion Barangays, CDMU-BukSU, REACT-KAAMULAN, KARANCHO, CITY-ENRO Fire-Aides, and CDRRMO personnel and staff.
This year’s NDRM theme, “Bantayog ng Katatagan at ang Pagbubuklod sa Layuning Kahandaan,” highlights the importance of disaster preparedness in mitigating the impacts of disasters. It underscores the shared responsibility of the local government and the community in engaging in DRRM initiatives and activities as a way of life.
One of the key highlights of this year’s NDRM is the forthcoming announcement of the launch of the Malaybalay City DRRM Forest.
