The City Health Office (CHO) organized a reunion of saved babies afflicted with metabolic disorders on February 29, 2024. The event took place at Loizas Pavilion in Brgy Casisang.
The gathering was attended by CHO personnel, parents, and children with confirmed metabolic disorders, aiming to celebrate the resilience of these children and encourage adherence to treatment regimens.
Key personalities present included Dr. Melirose S. Deticio, MD CHO I; Dr. Aileen M. Dumbrigue, MD, FPPS – NBSCC-BPMC follow-up head; Ian Roy Lapinid, RN – NBSCC-BPMC Follow-up nurse; Ann Michelle Go, MD – Non-Communicable medical coordinator; Kharl Karen T. Libot – NBS nurse coordinator; Gazel Dane Dela Cruz – Assistant NBS nurse coordinator; Cheryl Ann Jumalon – Nurse; Nicole Aurita – Nurse; HRH; and Midwives.
The event featured testimonials from parents, highlighting the importance of compliance with treatment regimens for conditions such as Congenital hypothyroidism, Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, G6PD (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency), Galactosemia, and MSUD (Maple syrup urine disease).
Additionally, tokens of appreciation were distributed as a gesture of support for the participants.
