In observance of World AIDS Day, the City Health Office (CHO) conducted a symposium at the Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Gymnasium on December 1, 2023. The event brought together the CHO HIV/AIDS Core Team, BukSU staff, and nursing students.

Guest Speaker Ms. Lerio C. Lloren, ALAGAD MINDANAO Project Officer, emphasized the critical importance of protection against the deadly HIV/AIDS. Ms. Lloren also discussed the severe consequences of being diagnosed HIV positive, with a particular focus on the implications for pregnant women.

The symposium, which aimed to mark World AIDS Day, served as an occasion to reflect on the progress made in the fight against HIV/AIDS. It provided an opportunity to pay tribute to those who lost their lives to the disease while renewing the commitment to combat stigma—a persistent challenge in the battle against HIV.

World AIDS Day holds significance globally as a day to unite in the ongoing efforts to raise awareness, show support for those living with HIV, and remember those who succumbed to AIDS-related illnesses.
