To maximize DOH’s vaccination roll-out for children aged 5-11 years campaign dubbed as “Resbakuna Kids”, the City Health Office (CHO) initiated a district pediatric vaccination drive.
This administering of services was done on April 6, 2022 at Barangay Caburacanan in Upper Pulangi, this City.
A total of 690 children from district participated in the event and were inoculated for their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
To lessen the fear the children may feel, the team converted the vaccination site into a child-friendly and party-themed place decorated with colorful tarpaulins, balloons, and animal images. Aside from getting vaccine jabs, children were given loot bags as token after the vaccination.
Meanwhile, records at the CHO showed that a total of 2,190 children have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who were administered the first dose and are awaiting their second dose totaled 2,290 children.
City Health Officer II Dr. Melirose Deticio encouraged other parents to let their children get the jabs, saying the vaccine protects severe cases of the disease. This is also in preparation for the gradual reintegration of face-to-face classes under the new normal.
Additionally, the CHO announcrd that the Pediatric Vaccination Roll-out at the ESA Barangay 4 is now accepting walk-ins. However, kids who are to be vaccinated should be accompanied by a parent or guardian presenting a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Schedules are timely posted on the “City Government of Malaybalay” Facebook page.
