The City Health Office (CHO) of Malaybalay held a seminar on August 27-28, 2024, at The Gardens Party Venue, aimed at enhancing the mental health knowledge of patient carers. The event focused on the importance of self-care and managing stress while taking care of patients, particularly in the aftermath of traumatic events, natural disasters, or personal crises.
Participants, including midwives, barangay health workers (BHWs), and patient carers from various barangay health stations, engaged in lectures and activities designed to promote self-care and provide practical strategies to reduce stress. The seminar emphasized the critical role carers play in both their own well-being and that of the patients they assist.
Among the resource speakers were Ma. Dolores D. Mercado, RN, MAN, Dr. Ann Michelle C. Go, the Non-Communicable Disease Medical Coordinator, Dr. Melirose S. Deticio, City Health Officer I, and Shelleme O. Macatol, RN. Also in attendance were Gazel Dela Cruz, RN, and Health Education and Promotion Officer III, Mhegan Dominguez.
