The City Health Office (CHO) led the City’s ASEAN Dengue Day and a simultaneous clean-up drive which were conducted across all barangays in Malaybalay City, with the main event taking place at the Airport Village Covered Court in Barangay Casisang on June 19, 2024.
The event included distinguished guest speakers, such as Dr. Frits Montemayor, Dr. Melirose Deticio, Dr. Luzares, Dr. Dune Berlyn Libetario, and Engineer Florissa Adviento. Other attendees included Punong Barangay Gregorio Jaroy, Casisang Purok Chairpersons, Nurse Deployment Program (NDP) participants, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), midwives, Provincial Health Office (PHO) personnel, and Education Service (ES) personnel.
Lectures on dengue prevention and control were delivered, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combating the spread of the disease. The event also included the distribution of insecticide-treated bed nets to the attendees, aimed at reducing mosquito-borne infections.
The simultaneous clean-up drive in all barangays reinforced the message of maintaining cleanliness to prevent mosquito breeding sites, crucial for dengue prevention.
This initiative underscores the commitment of Malaybalay City to public health and the proactive measures being taken to protect the community from dengue fever.
