Anchored on the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, the City Government of Malaybalay celebrated the National Children’s month, highlighting the Hip-hop dance competition during the culminating program dubbed as “Children’s Night.”
The City Planning & Development Office (CPDO) spearheaded the said competition which was participated by 13 high schools both from public and private of the City. It was conducted on November 29, 2019 at the Kaamulan Open Theatre.
Different dance groups included Bukidnon National High School (BNHS), San Isidro IBED, Casisang National High School (CNHS), Kalasungay National High School (KNHS), Casisang Senior High School (CSHS), Can-ayan Integrated School (CIS), Malaybalay City National Science High School (MCNHS), and Bukidnon State University (BukSU).
Other schools who also competed were from Basakan and Upper Pulangui districts namely Apo Macote National High School (AMNHS), San Martin Agro-Industrial National High School (SMANHS), Managok National High School (MNHS), St. Isidore Academy, Sinanglanan, and Silae National High School (SNHS).
In the program, City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. graced the occasion dedicated for the children’s welfare. The father of the City joined the joyous atmosphere of celebration and overwhelming excitement among parents, children and the youth while waiting for the result of winners.
BNHS bagged first place followed by BukSU in second. CSHS secured the third spot. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners in the amount Php 17,000.00, 15,000.00 and 13,000.00, respectively.
Mayor Flores and Vice Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran gave an additional P5,000.00 each to the top three winners.
Also present during the celebration were Herculano S. Ronolo, City Administrator and Victoria V. Gazo PhD CESO-V, City Schools’ Division Superintendent of Malaybalay City.
