In celebration of National Science and Technology Week, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted a Mindanao Food Congress and Oro Best Expo on October 26-30, 2022.

The five-day trade exposition aimed to empower food supply in the region, and promote Mindanao’s agriculture, and the micro, small-medium enterprises (MSMEs) during five days trade exposition from The DOST highlights its role in raising public knowledge and appreciation for technological advancements. On the other hand, Oro Best Expo also aims to help business partnership to grow and increase their market capabilities.

In his keynote speech, DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum said that these milestones became attainable because of the teamwork and cooperation of the government and private industry.

The event was attended by the DOST 10, dignitaries from the embassy of India in Manila, and representatives from the local governments of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental, City of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Malaybalay City – CMO-Tourism, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Mindanao Development Authority and many more.

The trade expo was also in partnership of media Philippine Information Agency, GMA Regional Tv, Mindanao Daily and Metro Cagayan de Oro Times.

For the first time since the pandemic, this year’s celebrations represent the return of physical

exhibitions and is expected to increase tourism and economy of the country.
