In response to the increasing number of confirmed Covid-19 cases and the impending threat of another virus variant, the City Government of Malaybalay has been doubling its effort to enhance its capacity to contain the virus and provide care and treatment for patients.

Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. since last year has prioritized the project to establish an innovative and cost-efficient quarantine facility funded by Office of the Civil Defense under the grant of “Bayanihan: We Heal as One” Act.

Mayor Flores instructed the City Engineering to create a workable plan for a 20-footer 8-unit prefabricated container quarantine facility, equipped rooms with individual comfort rooms and an airconditioning system. He added that the Php 6 million worth of infrastructure project could accommodate 16 occupants based on the guidelines set by the Department of Health.

On July 21, 2021, Disaster Response Vice-chairperson Roberto T. Flores inspected the progress of the construction. He said that it is nearing completion with 70% accomplishment of the ongoing 4 unit-installation during his site visit at Ligtas Covid Center in Patpat.

Flores added that it would augment the existing local quarantine and isolation facilities at LCC, Pelot’s, Tesda Training center and the province Rehab Center treatment facility.

The Executive Assistant further reminds the public to observe health protocols to prevent from people getting infected with the virus.
