Since its first Covid-19 vaccination rollout on March 16, 2021, the City Government of Malaybalay through the vaccination teams has breached the 5,000 mark based on the accomplishment report of the City Health Office (CHO) on May 18, 2021.
According to report, a total of 5,057 were already vaccinated comprised of 2,614 medical frontliners (A1) and 2,443 senior citizens (A2), respectively. Hospitals in the City has also been tallied to receive the vaccine reaching a total of 1,094 health professionals and staff during their first dose.
Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. has always been in the forefront of the health program dubbed as “Resbakuna” urging priority groups A1 and A2 to get vaccinated. True to his word, he was the first to receive the jab on May 3, 2021 during the second rollout of vaccine for senior citizens. Mayor Flores also witnessed the inoculation of CHO head Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang in a ceremony during the first rollout two months ago.
At least 97.65 percent of A1 group received the vaccine closing the gap to its target of 2,667. Meanwhile the ongoing vaccination A2 garnered a rate of 17.71 percent aimed at achieving a total accomplishment target of 13,797 throughout the City.
Barangays already scheduled by the City Vaccination Team for A2 were Poblacion Brgys 1-11, Casisang and Imbayao. Teams were also deployed to cater brgy San Jose, Linabo, Aglayan, Cabangahan and Bangcud on May 18-21, 2021 at their respective vaccination centers.
