The Department of Agriculture-10 (DA-10) through the regional field office recently conducted a mass turnover of farm machinery and equipment to Malaybalay City Farmers’ Cooperative and Associations (FCAs).
Spearheaded by Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, the distribution of 32 units of various farm implements was held on March 3, 2022 at the Northern Mindanao Agricultural Crops and Livestock Research Complex (NMACLRC) at Brgy. Dalwangan. Some 20 irrigators association and one cooperative of Malaybalay City were among the recipients of the machinery and equipment which totals to Php 5,761,200.00.
The said implements will be utilized by Miglamin Farmers Association, Lunokan Farmers Small Water Irrigation System Association, Maranhog Farmers Small Water Irrigation System Association, Dumayas Maligaya Small Water Irrigation System Association, Managok Irrigators Association, Lalawan Sawaga Simaya Communal Irrigators Association, Lower Simaya Farmers Irrigators Association, Mansagkoy Lagis Binalbagan Irrigators Association, Purais Pajo Irrigators Association, Sinanglanan National Irrigators Association, Apo Macote Communal Irrigators Association, Kalawag Apo Macote Sto. Niño Sinanglanan Irrigators Association, Cabugon Irrigators Association, St. Peter Irrigators Association, Zamboanguita Irrigators Association, Tag ilanao Irrigators Association, Tigbawan Irrigators Association, Paiwaig Lalawan Communal Irrigators Association, CAPUNA Irrigators Association, Bandugan Lagumitan Farmers Irrigators Association, and Simaya Agrarian Reform Cooperative.
Turned over to the associations and cooperatives were one (1) grain collector, 7 compact rice mills, 7 mechanical weeders, and 16 seed spreaders. Furthermore, the City Agriculture Office (CAgO) is also a recipient of 2units egg incubators (500 egg capacity) with a setter and hatcher worth Php 75,798.00.
In his message, RD Collado reminded the farmer-beneficiaries to protect and supervise well the agri-machinery and equipment to maximize its operation and utilization, benefitting more farmers in their locality.
