The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) recently facilitated the turnover of livelihood fund worth Php 300,000.00 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development—Sustainable Livelihood Project (DSWD-SLP) to Patpat Sustainable Livelihood Project Association (SLPA) for their proposed community store project.

With the presence of DSWD regional office personnel and SLPA representatives, the ceremony was conducted last October 20, 2022 at the CSWDO conference, City Hall, Malaybalay City.

The program is part of Executive Order 70 (EO 70), which helps the government’s thrust to end local armed conflicts in vulnerable areas. Mr. Rey P. Valdez, project development officer, explained the importance of the program and required the recipients of the grant to support and participate in all of its activities. Valdez added that the provision of community-driven livelihood activity of this identified area is a necessity.

Patpat SLPA is one of the recipient-barangays of this program in addition to Manalog, Kibalabag, Indalasa, Mapayag, and Dalwangan. The group compose of 30 community residents of Purok 6, Patpat will manage their own community store and run the daily operations to make it profitable and sustainable.
