By implementing and maintaining a system that conforms to the ease of doing business under the scope of new and renewal of business permits, Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) of the City Government of Malaybalay has collected a total of P41.24 million this year as compared to last year’s P34.12 million.

The BOSS initiative started last January 2 – 22, 2018 for poblacion and highway district, January 30 – February 2, at Basakan barangays and February 6 – 9 at Upper Pulangui District.

Extended collection to Basakan and Upper Pulangui barangays also took a big leap from P148,168 last year to P1,061,166.00.

The significant increase of collection was manifested in the total number of business permits (BP) issued to 4,287 clients with 3,544 for renewals while 693 for new applicants as compared to last year with 3,216 and 535, respectively.

It is noted based on data generated by the Business Permits and Licensing Division that it maintains a steady increase of new applicants and renewals through streamlining the necessary steps of services and improvement of the procedures.

This year with the presence of the representative from the Office of the Ombudsman, recorded the shortest time of transaction per client with only 30 minutes through the collaborative efforts of the concerned agencies.

Average turnaround time in the past was around 90 minutes. Before BOSS, the service can extend up to two weeks to its clients.

The success of BOSS operations maintained its status as the City is a recipient of Blue Seal Level II, certified by the Office of the Ombudsman since October 20, 2016. This recognition passed the City at least 75 percent of the prescribed standards.

Participating agencies of the BOSS include: Business Permits and Licensing Division, City Engineering, City Health, City Economic Enterprise and Development Management Office, City Planning and Development Office, City ENRO, City Treasurer’s Office, Bureau of Fire and Protection and Barangay Representatives.
