The City Engineering Office has released project status report as of December 2019 supervising a total of 104 various infrastructure projects worth Php 526.79 million.

The projects included were 39 buildings amounting to Php 128.04 million(M), 37 other structures worth Php 106.8-M, and construction of two water systems with a combined cost of Php 6.97-M.

The bigger allocation of budget was funded towards the completion and ongoing construction of 26 roads and bridges pegged at Php 284.88-M. These projects aimed to ease transport of goods and services and boost economic activity of the City.  

Environmental projects were also in full swing in compliance of RA 9003 known as the ecological solid waste management act. Implemented were the construction of Php 20.98-M categorized sanitary landfill, Php 1.41-M material recovery facility, and Php 2.31-M sanitary landfill office and wash area.

Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. also approved the Php 6.63-M closure of controlled disposal facility and slope protection as mandated under the said law.

Other projects supervised were the ongoing construction phase two of the Php 39.99-M legislative building located beside the new city hall; near completion of Php 18.99-M parking area for employees and clients at City Hall; and the Php 13.70-M multi-purpose training center for the Department of Education – City Division.

The engineering office is tasked to supervise and implement projects mandated by the local government both by straight contract and by administration. All projects are in accordance with the program of works, plans and specifications in coordination with local chief executive, city officials, different offices and agencies.
