Barangay Kalasungay, Malaybalay City, led by Punong Barangay Rodrigo O. Niere, celebrated the 179th Aldaw ta Kalasungay with a vibrant cultural street dancing competition and ground presentation on September 11, 2024.
The event, which featured six contingents from Puroks 1-4, 6, and 8, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Bukidnon and Higaonon tribes.
Each contingent performed traditional dances reflecting the customs and traditions of the local tribes, complemented by colorful tribal costumes, accessories, and props.
The performances aimed to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the indigenous communities in Barangay Kalasungay.
Hon. Niere, along with the Barangay Council, invited Mr. Marven Jan A. Nadela, Senior Tourism Operations Officer – OIC, and two Kaamulan Festival directors and choreographers to serve as judges for the competition.
The Malaybalay City Tourism Office extended its congratulations to all participants and winners, celebrating the success of the event and its contribution to preserving the local cultural heritage.
