The residents of lower Mapulo in Upper Pulangi are now able to access safe supply of water after the City Engineering Office completed the water system project on June 7, 2020.
For a long time, the community with a population of 700 has no stable water supply and experience shortage of potable water, said one resident.
The residents thanked the City Government of Malaybalay, through the leadership of Mayor Florencio T. Flores Jr., for realizing the completion of the project that is capable of producing 90,000 liters of water per day.
OIC-City Engineer Roy A. Lapuz, said the City Government allocated ₱3.6 million for the project.
The water system provides level 2 access where a shared designated water distribution line is available to all for free. But for those who wish to tap water at their respective homes, a monthly water bill will be paid to the barangay, subject to their existing policies.
