The City Government of Malaybalay and the City Health Office (CHO) were lauded for their exemplary contributions in the field of health, receiving plaques of recognition from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 10.
The recognition ceremony, held at the Deluxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City on November 28-29, 2023, commended the city health personnel for their outstanding achievements in two key areas:
Best Implementer of the Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) Intervention Guide: Acknowledging their commitment to mental health care as the best implementers of the mhGAP Intervention Guide. This initiative demonstrates their dedication to addressing mental health challenges within the community.
Compliance with DOH Memorandum No. 2021-0521: CHO were also honored for their unwavering commitment to public welfare by complying with the Department of Health Memorandum No. 2021-0521. This memorandum outlines the interim guidelines for the Certification of Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Programs, showcasing the city’s dedication to addressing substance abuse issues.
The recipients were Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang, City Health Officer II, and Dr. Melirose S. Deticio, City Health Officer I. The award was received on their behalf by Dr. Ann Michelle C. Go, Non-Communicable Diseases Cluster Medical Coordinator, and Shelleme Organiza-Macatol, RN, NCDC Nurse Program Coordinator.
The recognition is a result of the Non-Communicable Diseases Cluster Program Implementation Review 2023, highlighting the city’s continuous efforts in advancing health initiatives for the well-being of its residents.
