The City Government of Malaybalay conducted a solemn ceremony dubbed as, “Tribute to the late City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr.” on February 21, 2022 at the City Hall, Casisang, Malaybalay City.

City Officials and employees paid their respect to the former local chief executive described by many as truly a servant-leader, father and legend to its constituents which he loved to serve for more than three decades.

City Administrator Flaviano T. Gapol, Jr. during the program welcomed the bereaved family, City officials, and employees, “We are here to honor a great leader and give tribute to the man behind the saying, Ang buhat maoy pasultihon, dili ang sulti mao’y pabuhaton.”

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Estelito Marabe saddened over the untimely passing of the good Mayor whom he considered to be his idol in politics and public service. “Doc Boy’s life was never in vain. His life is worth emulating and he will always be remembered,” said Marabe.

Mayor Jay Warren Pabillaran also condoled the bereaved family. He stressed that it is our duty and responsibility to continue the legacies left behind by our beloved Mayor that made an impact for the City. “Your name, your work, your hardships and your sacrifices will be chiselled in the annals in the history of our City, you will be cherised and remembered,” he said.

Resolution of condolences from Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Government of Malaybalay Employees Association, and Malaybalay City Employees Cooperative were given to the Flores family at the People’s Hall conveying deepest sympathies during this sorrowful time.
