The City Government of Malaybalay through its sustainable program implementation of the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) has gained recognition and accolades from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) being included as one of the top 9 local government units (LGU) with best practices in the country.

The program highlighted the City’s unique implementation of various initiatives and interventions which started in 2016. This has led to the successful rehabilitation and reintegration of the City’s 3,003 out 3,608 drug personalities to the community as of November 2020.

Also, the CBRP has resulted to the drug-cleared status of 13 out of 46 barangays in the City while another eight barangays are currently on the process of drug-clearing.

Realizing the success behind CBRP, the City Government submitted a short video showcasing the best practices and strategies to DILG.  On November 19, 2020, the DILG sent out an advisory recognizing Malaybalay City as one of the selected entries for the Talakayang Rehab: Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation and Reintegration Best Practices Symposium.

The video of the CBRP implementation was broadcasted by the DILG through their Facebook page on November 20, 2020 distinguishing the City’s effort dubbed as one of the best practices all throughout the nation.
