The City Government of Malaybalay conducted the 123rd Rizal Day commemoration program on December 30, 2019, anchored on the theme: “Huwaran ng Pilipino sa Ikadalawampu’t Isang Siglo.”

The ceremony held at Plaza Rizal was graced by Vice Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran together with City Officials and employees, Barangay Officials and different civic groups and organizations.

The program that started at 7:00 o’clock in the morning was also attended by the top five contingents of the recently concluded Miss Malaybalay 2019 headed by crowned queen Ms. Dolly Cruz along with first runner-up Winjiel Luminton, second runner-up Jasvincelou Claudine M. Damasco, third runner-up Alyyah Samantha M. Lapuz and fourth runner-up Genirose B. Calambro.

Every 30th day of December is celebrated remembering the patriotism and martyrdom of our National Hero. Rizal’s critical work inspired the revolutionaries that led to the eventual downfall of Spanish rule ending three centuries of dominion over the motherland.

The offertory rite was highlighted with the ceremonial Flag raising followed by the symbolic Wreath-laying together with the coordination of the 403rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army.
