In accordance with Ordinance No. 988, series of 2021, the City of Malaybalay granted a one-time incentive of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100,000.00) to centenarian Ms. Marina Marquez Encabo. This incentive, acknowledging her longevity, marks her as the first centenarian to receive such an award from the City Government of Malaybalay.

City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran, alongside personnel from the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), presented the incentive to Ms. Encabo at her residence in Purok 3, Brgy. Managok on January 10, 2024.

Ms. Encabo, born on March 16, 1922, was honored in accordance with Republic Act 10868, commonly known as the Centenarian Act of 2016. This law recognizes and pays tribute to Filipinos who achieve the remarkable milestone of reaching 100 years of age, regardless of their residence within the Philippines or abroad.

The allocated amount of P100,000.00 was sourced from the Gender and Development (GAD) fund. Additionally, a Certificate of Recognition was presented to Ms. Encabo in appreciation of her exceptional achievement. This initiative reflects the commitment of the City Government to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions and longevity of its senior citizens.
