The City Government of Malaybalay turned over a brand new ambulance to the Malaybalay Emergency and Rescue Unit (MERU) to augment its emergency response capability for the cityfolk.

Held at City Hall, Executive Assistant IV Roberto T. Flores formally handed over the stewardship of the vehicle to Area Coordination Emergency Response (ACER) Officer Sony Dabe R. Belderol. Also in attendance to the event last February 24, 2020 were officials and employees from the City General Services Office, City Budget Office and City Engineering Office.

The addition of the newly purchased ambulance worth Php 2.2-million that carries a 2.8-liter diesel engine is equipped with features based on Department of Health (DOH) standards. The life-saving vehicle also has intercom system, exhaust fan and a seat provided for the attending medical doctor.

With this new development, MERU aims to establish an average response time of seven minutes within the 5-kilometer radius.
