In recent weeks, OSCA, in collaboration with personnel from the City Administrator’s Office, conducted a series of schedules across different barangays for the renewal and issuance of new senior citizens’ national plastic IDs.

From January 16 to 19, 2024, OSCA distributed a total of 438 plastic IDs in Brgy. Aglayan, Malaybalay City. OSCA Head Rene Y. Cipriano emphasized that these IDs are valid for a lifetime, and replacements are only necessary in cases of severe damage or loss.

The mobile team is scheduled to visit other barangays in the upcoming weeks to extend the same service.

The senior citizens’ ID card offer qualified holders the various privileges, including a 20 percent discount on necessities, as mandated by Republic Act 9994, also known as the “Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010.” This law covers discounts on transportation fares, groceries, and medicines with a doctor’s prescription.
