The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) team led by Assistant Secretary for Global media and public affairs Jusan Vincent L. Arcena visited the City of Malaybalay on September 7, 2021 as part of their nationwide campaign which highlights the remarkable accomplishments of the government under the Duterte Administration.

City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr. welcomed the delegates based in Manila during the meeting at Loiza’s, Casisang together with the attendance of Barangay Captains from 46 barangays. He told barangay officials to appreciate what the administration has accomplished by listening and learning the legacy programs and projects of the President affecting all facets in governance.

Asec. Arcena, who hails from Surigao del Norte showcased the achievements of current administration that focused on the three major pillars in poverty alleviation, infrastructure development and peace and order. He anchored his discussion based on how our lives have changed for the last five years.

Arcena mentioned laws that largely benefited the Filipino people to name a few were free tuition law in colleges and state universities, universal health care law for availing zero hospital bill through “Malasakit Center” and free irrigation law for small farmers owning 8-hectare farm or less.

He also highlighted the gains of Build, build, build program which generated 300,000 jobs in region 10 and this year with the addition of 38,000. The Malaybalay bypass road was among the projects completed in the program along with the completion of Valencia Bypass road to ensure the unhampered transport and fast delivery of basic goods and services.

Ongoing and lined-up projects under this program with combined projects worth Php 39.7 million (M) included recipients from barangay Manalog with the construction of 1-storey 2-classroom school building (Php 6-M) and local access road improvement (Php 8-M); Barangay Imbayao improvement of local access road upgrading (Php 11-M) and improvement of level II water supply system (Php 9-M); Barangay Can-ayan construction of Brgy Health Station (Php 2-M); and Barangay Busdi improvement of health station (Php 2-M) and construction of another health Station (Php 1.7-M).

In a testimony of one of the recipients, Punong Barangay Norbie Lagunday of Manalog expressed his admiration to Duterte administration that even in remotest community, projects and programs reached them and are felt by the people which they are forever grateful to the kind of inclusive governance.
