Malaybalay City, May 23-24, 2024 – The Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis (PhilCAT), in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) – Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao and the Philippine Business for Social Progress, supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, is advancing efforts towards the sustainability of Mandatory TB Notification under the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP). All engaged facilities covered by the Private Sector Engagement Notification Officers (PSENOs) are set to become Notifying and Self-Encoding Facilities.
On May 23-24, onsite visits were conducted at Malaybalay Polymedic General Hospital (MPGH), St. Jude Thaddeus Hospital, Bethel Baptist Hospital (BBH), and Malaybalay Medical Hospital Care (MMHC). These visits aimed to provide technical assistance to the designated Hospital Notification Officers (HNOs).
The objectives of this initiative include advocating for the designation of HNOs, providing technical assistance for establishing hospital-wide referral systems, enhancing the Mandatory TB Notification (MTBN) through initiatives like the Physicians Incentive Scheme, and improving the overall Cascade of Care.
