The Silae Livestock Farmers Association celebrated its first anniversary with the ceremonial turnover of three piglets to members during a gathering held at Barangay Silae on August 19, 2024. The event highlighted the success of the association’s pig-raising project, a key initiative under the city’s Livestock Intensification Program.

Barangay officials, led by Barangay Captain Dovit Delamance and Kagawad on Agriculture Mark Linugaw, joined the association members and officers in the celebration. Also present were key personnel from the City Veterinary Office, including City Veterinarian Dr. Michele C. Miquiabas, Livestock Program Officer Dr. Omar T. Cahanap, and Livestock Officer on Dispersal Rex Van Dequito. Butch Arnel Ocaya from the City General Services Office, along with Barangay Veterinary Extension Workers from the Upper Pulangi Cluster, also attended.

The turnover of piglets, which were raised from the original batch distributed a year ago, symbolizes the growing strength and unity within the association. This milestone is seen as a testament to the success of the City Mayor’s initiative to boost local livestock production through community-led projects.
